Tougo Coffee is the independent Seattle roaster with an Eastside café that puts direct-trade sourcing, community, and no-shortcut espresso at the center of the counter. The room reads as neighborhood third-wave: warm, unfussy, and quietly serious about the coffee it pours.

The visit, in detail
Order the seasonal single origin as a pour-over — the barista will happily walk you through the tasting notes — or a proper cortado from the espresso side. The pastry case leans small and local. Regulars know the wi-fi is good enough for a workday, and the tables are spaced for actual focus.
