Family Activities in Bellevue

Bellevue is a very good city to bring a child. It has one of the best children''s museums in the country (KidsQuest), a working farm inside city limits (Kelsey Creek), a lakefront swimming beach with a lifeguard (Meydenbauer Bay), a public aquatics center with a family pool, and a downtown park with a fountain that runs from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Every one of these is affordable, most of them are free, and none of them require more than a fifteen-minute drive from downtown.

A few practical notes. KidsQuest ($14–$17, kids under 1 free) sells timed tickets online and often fills weekend afternoon slots — book the 9:30 a.m. slot. Kelsey Creek Farm is free, open dawn to dusk, and busiest on Saturday mornings when Kids-in-the-Farm classes are running. Bellevue Downtown Park''s fountain and playground get crowded from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on summer weekends; before 10 or after 4 is dramatically calmer.
