About South Bellevue Community Center
South Bellevue Community Center is a modern city-run rec building tucked into a forested slope above Coal Creek, with a gymnasium, drop-in play zone, teen room, arts and dance studios, and a stunning lobby that looks out over evergreens. It's a working community center — swim classes, senior fitness, birthday parties — and a superb rainy-day option for families with young kids.

The visit, in detail
The building steps down the hillside in glass-walled tiers. The main level holds a full-size gym with open play hours and a preschool-focused play zone stocked with toys, mats, and climbing pieces. Upper floors host classes, and the top lobby has floor-to-ceiling windows over the forest. Outside, a short trail connects to the greater Coal Creek Natural Area.
