About
About Newcastle Golf Club
Newcastle Golf Club is the Eastside's marquee public golf destination — two championship 18-hole courses perched 1,000 feet above Lake Washington, with panoramic views of the Seattle skyline, the Olympics, and Mount Rainier that rival any resort in the state. The Coal Creek and China Creek courses both climb the west face of Cougar Mountain, and the clubhouse restaurant, The Calcutta, is worth the drive by itself.
Highlights
What makes it special
- Two championship 18-hole public courses at 1,000 feet elevation
- Panoramic views of Seattle, the Olympics, and Mount Rainier
- The Calcutta clubhouse patio — one of the region's great golf-and-view lunches
- Full pro shop, PGA instruction, driving range, and short-game area
- Wedding and corporate event venue with 360-degree views
What you'll experience
The visit, in detail
From the moment you turn up the driveway, elevation and views take over. The Coal Creek course is the tournament layout — longer, more exposed, and home to Newcastle's most photographed tee boxes. The China Creek course is shorter, tree-lined, and forgiving enough to book for guests. The clubhouse combines a pro shop, patio dining with the full skyline in view, and a fine-dining room used for weddings and corporate events.

Practical
Know before you go
Tee times release online up to 30 days out and fill fast in summer — book early, especially for Coal Creek weekend mornings. Soft spikes only. Weather changes fast at elevation; a light rain shell earns its space in the bag. The clubhouse is open to non-golfers for lunch and dinner — a great "sunset view" recommendation for visitors who don't play. Cart use is included with green fees; walking is limited on the steeper course.
